Meena Satnarain

Meena Satnarain is an artist, educator, and creative technologist working in New York and Maryland. Her practice spans design craft, textiles, and digital media with attention to artistic heritage and context. One proud achievement was helping correct the attribution of a distinguished vase at the Royal Collection Trust in England to Indigenous Guyanese artist Stephanie Correia.

Meena is the founder of Textual Objects that developed from her MFA research at Rhode Island School of Design. Textual Objects brings together creative development, education, and selective collaboration across art, design, and engineering. Her current work includes animation, interactive projects, and generative visual systems. She uses the term "machine artistry" to describe work made with computational technologies while keeping human judgment, emotional intelligence, and intention central to the creative process.

Meena holds an MFA in Digital + Media from Rhode Island School of Design, an MA in Art Education from New York University, and a BA in Visual and Performing Arts from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
