Meena Satnarain is an artist, director, and education specialist working in New York and Maryland. Her art is an innovative mix of traditional craft with technology, often weaving elements of textiles, sculpture, and video. Meena believes creative technology has a unique power to form authentic narratives. A proud professional achievement was getting the Royal Collection Trust in England to correctly attribute a distinguished vase to indigenous Guyanese artist Stephanie Correia.
Organized to selectively collaborate on visionary art, design, and engineering, Textual Objects is a force of nature developed from her RISD MFA in Digital Media. Her latest work as a filmmaker / animator uses traditional techniques with machine artistry - her preferred term over “artificial intelligence” because genuine emotional intelligence is used to create with technology.
Meena also holds a MA in Art Education from New York University and a BA in Visual & Performing Arts from the University of Maryland.
